Rebels behind Houla massacre, US plan to destabilize & save Syria in full swing

The Syrian government says the massacre of more than a hundred people in the Syrian town of Houla was the work of armed terrorist gangs. This, as the U.S. Secretary of State admits military planning for action in Syria is already going ahead, but Moscow has vowed to block any moves for outside interference at the UN. Activist Sara Flounders talks to RT. She says Washington was never interested in a diplomatic solution in Syria.

War favours - New Libya welcomes leader wanted for genocide

Sudan's president has offered Libya his help in disarming former rebels. Omar al-Bashir was in Tripoli to thank its new leaders for getting rid of Muammar Gaddafi, who was known to have backed Sudanese militants. Bashir is wanted by The Hague for genocide in his own country. Human rights groups condemned his visit, and questioned the priorities of Libya's new leaders. But analysts say they are just following the West's example.

Colonel Morris Davis speaks abt torture and illegal war !

One of the first promises made by President Obama when he first came to power back in 2008 was to close the controversial Guantanamo Bay detention center. Four years later it is still operational. The former chief prosecutor of the Gitmo military commissions, Colonel Morris Davis, who was thrilled when Obama took office, told RT of his huge disappointment in the US president.

President Barack Obama has signed a controversial defence bill that basically allows the indefinite detention of terror suspects. The U.S. president said he had 'serious reservations' on some provisions regarding the treatment of detainees. But as Marina Portnaya reports, during his time in office, Obama's shown he's not always good to his word.

US SUPPLIED WEAPONS TO TALIBAN IN AFGHANISTAN !

in the early 1980s, the CIA and the ISI (Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency) provided arms to Afghans resisting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and the ISI assisted the process of gathering radicals from around the world to fight against the Soviets.
Osama Bin Laden was one of the key players in organizing training camps for the foreign volunteers. The U.S. poured funds and arms into Afghanistan, and "by 1987, 65,000 tons of U.S.-made weapons and ammunition a year were entering the war."
FBI translator Sibel Edmonds, who has been fired from the agency for disclosing sensitive information, has claimed United States was on intimate terms with Taliban and Al-Qaeda, using them to further certain goals in Central Asia.

The Taliban were based in the Helmand, Kandahar, and Uruzgan regions and were overwhelmingly ethnic Pashtuns and predominantly Durrani Pashtuns.

According to the Pentagon agency responsible for combating roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan, the increased Taliban threat to US and NATO vehicles comes from Italian-made mines left over from the US Central Intelligence Agency's military assistance to the anti-Soviet jihadists in the 1980s.

who gave taliban weapons?

Investigative journalists like Wayne Madsen and Gareth Porter have been challenging claims made by U.S. officials and Taliban commanders that Iran is providing insurgents with tank killing mines in Afghanistan. These experts say that the TC-6 Italian-made mines were actually provided by the United States to the Jihadi Movement back in the 1980s. So why does there seem to be a concerted effort on the part of the U.S. Government and the media to blame Iran? RT's Dina Gusovsky discusses this issue with RT Contributor Wayne Madsen.

Taliban worked to prevent 9/11

Evidence now available from various sources, including recently declassified US State Department documents, shows that the Taliban regime led by Mullah Mohammad Omar imposed strict isolation on Osama bin Laden after 1998 to prevent him from carrying out any plots against the United States. It also bolsters the credibility of Taliban statements in recent months asserting that it has no interest in Al Qaeda's global jihadist aims.

CIA Agents Reveal "Secrets of the CIA"

In this riveting exposé, five former CIA agents describe how their initial pride and enthusiasm at serving their nation turned to anguish and remorse, as they realized that they were actually subverting democracy and killing innocent civilians all in the name "national security" and promoting foreign policy agendas.

A Notre Dame football star, an aerospace engineering senior at Iowa State, an attractive high school graduate, a young patriot, and an Olympic shooting champion all were recruited by the CIA at a young age. These five brave individuals risk retaliation in revealing the story of their gradual disillusionment and finally defection from the CIA, as they eventually became convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were serving neither democracy, nor the people of their country.

The Olympic shooting champion describes being put in charge of overthrowing the democratically elected government of Guatemala. The patriot relates his deep remorse for his direct responsibility in the deaths of numerous innocent people for which he can never make amends. The pretty high school graduate describes how her initial addiction to power and intrigue turned to disgust and horror. This powerful documentary is a rare and remarkable look at the results of unbridled secrecy and the lengths to which some elements in government will go to achieve questionable foreign policy goals.

WAR MADE EASY (full documentary)

War Made Easy reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Narrated by actor and activist Sean Penn, the film exhumes remarkable archival footage of official distortion and exaggeration from LBJ to George W. Bush, revealing in stunning detail how the American news media have uncritically disseminated the pro-war messages of successive presidential administrations.

War Made Easy gives special attention to parallels between the Vietnam war and the war in Iraq. Guided by media critic Norman Solomon's meticulous research and tough-minded analysis, the film presents disturbing examples of propaganda and media complicity from the present alongside rare footage of political leaders and leading journalists from the past, including Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara, dissident Senator Wayne Morse, and news correspondents Walter Cronkite and Morley Safer.

NWO Puppets: 'Cold war & crusades never finished'

Russia's assessment of the cause of the Syrian unrest points the finger of blame firmly at an armed opposition. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also says it's time to stop dealing in ultimatums and get back to peace talks.
A UN investigation earlier stated that Syrian forces had committed crimes against humanity in their brutal treatment of anti-government demonstrators. Almost 4,000 people have been killed after months of unrest. The EU is tightening the economic screws on the Syrian regime and is considering an arms embargo - something Moscow strongly opposes. Ex-CIA Agent: America creates its own enemies

Americans are in the crosshairs of terrorists worldwide purely due to Washington's policy in the Muslim world, not because there is an Islamic enemy whose only aim is to kill Americans for their freedoms and lifestyle, insists a former CIA officer. Historian Michael Scheuer, an author of "Through our enemies' eyes", who worked for the agency for over 20 years till 2004 and at one time was the chief of the CIA's 'Bin Laden unit', says America's greatest enemy -- radical Islam -- never existed: neither when Bin Laden was alive, nor now.

Iran Isolation? 'US only player to gain from Saudi murder plot

The U.S. President has taken a firm stance against Iran, promising tough sanctions against the country over claims it was plotting to kill the Saudi ambassador to Washington. Two Iranians were charged with trying to hire members of a Mexican drug cartel to carry out the attack - something Tehran has dismissed as baseless. But Barack Obama says there's enough evidence of Iran's guilt and is calling on the international community to make it 'pay for its behavior' by further isolating Tehran. The U.S. is now considering sanctions on Iran's Сentral Bank, promising even more pressure. Professor Seyed Mohammad Marandi from the University of Tehran says Iran will deal with any pressure.

Dead Wrong: Living 'victim' talks on TV

In Syria, at least six people are reported to have been killed in the latest clashes between protesters and security forces. Human rights groups continue to sound the alarm over multiple arrests and killings - but one high-profile victim has made an amazing reappearance. Ivor Bennett reports on the media's quickfire reactions at the expense of fact-checking.

Shocking Video: Syrian opposition violence

Torture, booby-trapped cars, machine-guns shooting in the air -- RT has come into the possession of a video that deals with episodes of the day-to-day life of members of the Syrian opposition. It shows members of the opposition wielding various weaponry -- from sickles to pump-action shotguns -- and using it, as well as some results of their actions. Parts of it contain too much violence to be reproduced for an unprepared audience, the rest is available to demonstrate the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe Syria is dealing with. Meanwhile, Russia has declared its readiness to continue working on a new resolution on Syria and expects two delegations of the Syrian opposition to visit Moscow for negotiations in October. While a massive group of Western countries last week proposed two resolutions, both of which included sanctions against current President Bashar al-Assad's regime if violence against the opposition continues, Russia and China opposed any kind of sanctions. Russia has condemned the Western resolutions as being designed to force a regime change in Syria, which, according to numerous statements made by Russia's Foreign Ministry, will only encourage violence.

Libya witness to RT: Rebels killing civilians, food & water short

As the forces of Libya's new rulers continue their siege of the two remaining Gaddafi strongholds, we spoke to an eye witness. A woman from Tripoli, who asked that we call her Selma, was in Beni Walid a day ago. Speaking in a low voice in fear for her life, she said former rebels care little about the well being of civilians.

Double Struggle: 'Rebels fight for power pie, West for oil'

Libya's new rulers have named temporary cabinet ministers to govern the country until it is fully secured. Meanwhile their forces continue to lay siege to the few remaining Gaddafi strongholds. The National Transitional Council now controls most of the country, but still faces fierce resistance in Sirte, Bani Walid and pockets in the southern desert. After a two day ceasefire to allow residents to leave, NTC forces attempted further attacks on, the ousted colonel's hometown, Sirte. The Red Cross has warned of a humanitarian disaster as the town is running out of medical supplies, food and water. Patrick Henningsen - Managing Editor of the news website, 21st Century Wire, says there is a huge power struggle within the Transitional National Council.
